CRUSADERS 11U REPEAT AS FALL KING OF SWING CHAMPIONS IN CHARLOTTE,NC

THE FALL KING OF SWING TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONSHIP BELONGS TO THE 11U (Major) CRUSADERS WITH 10-2 VICTORY IN CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

The 11U (Major) Crusaders traveled to Charlotte, NC this past weekend to play in the USSSA King of Swing 11U tournament with one goal in mind- To defend their title as the Charlotte King of Swing Tournament Champions.  The 11U Crusaders won this tournament last fall in the 10U Division………… Mission Accomplished!!

The 11U Crusaders have had this tournament in their sites for the past 3 weeks and have been preparing for the high level competition by playing up in the 12u division locally.  The Crusaders have faired well in the 12U division locally but have come up just a little short against the competition.   The 11U Crusaders were determined to change their course and compete for the first time in their regular 11u age division and stake their claim.   They did just that……and showed a great  WILL TO WIN and captured the title  with a “Total Team Effort” on display all weekend and in the championship game.   The path to the championship game went as follows:

Game 1-

11U Crusaders –   8

11U Weddington Baseball Club (Matthews,NC)-  5

Game 2-

11U Crusaders-   6

12U Arsenal Baseball Academy  (Charlotte,NC)-  7

The 11U Crusaders out hit the 12U Arsenal Baseball squad with 9 hits to 5 hits in this game

Game 3-

11U Crusaders-  15

11U UPSTATE SELECT (Roebuck,SC)-  1

The 11U Crusaders had 5 pitchers combine for a NO HITTER in this contest

Game 4 – CHAMPIONSHIP GAME

11U Crusaders- 10

11u Weddington Baseball Club (Matthews,NC) – 2

The 11U Crusaders would total 9 hits in this contest to only 3 from the Weddington Baseball Club.  The story of the game and theme would be “Total Team Baseball” articulated with big plays in the field and key situational hitting with runners on base capped with a mammoth homerun by E. Larkin.

This weekend was an excellent culmination of hard work and determination by these young men as they battled hard to defend their title.  They can now stake the claim as back to back champions King of Swing Champions.

Next stop is Lexington,SC as the 11U Major Crusaders will compete in the South Carolina 2017 Fall Super NIT.   Congratulations and keep grinding!!!!!
