USA Baseball’s National Team Identification Series (NTIS) – East Tennessee Stage 1 Tryout Dates

Since 1978 USA Baseball has been the national governing body for amateur baseball. It represents the sport in the United States as a member of the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC) and internationally as a member federation of the World Baseball Softball Confederation (WBSC).

Nearly every major national amateur baseball organization in America is united as a USA Baseball national member organization. As a result, USA Baseball governs more than 12 million amateur players in ballparks and playgrounds across the country.

USA Baseball seeks out national talent through its National Team Identification Series (NTIS).  The NTIS process starts at a local level, progresses to a regional level, and then culminates at a national level.  The first step starts with Stage 1 Tryouts that will be listed in each state of the Southeast Region.  At these tryouts, players will be evaluated by the USA Baseball Staff to potentially earn an opportunity to attend a Stage 2 Tryout (11U on July 21; 13U on July 23; 14U on July 22 all in Winder, Georgia).  Three current age groups (11U, 13U, 14U) will be represented this year to fill out next year’s 12U, 14U and 15U teams.

From the Stage 2 tryout, select players will be chosen to represent the Southeast Region at the NTIS (a.k.a. Stage 3 tryout) being held at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, North Carolina.  This team will carry the best players from the Southeast Region that have displayed the abilities and attitudes suited for USA Baseball.
