“Never get tired of doing what is right, for after a while we will reap a reward of blessing if we don’t get discouraged and give up.”  Galatians 6:9

If you quit, you have already lost. Game over. Giving up is just plain stupid, and there is no place in God’s word where we are ever told to stop trying. If you find yourself tired of trying, your frustration will stifle your teammates.

If we really desire to be like Jesus, we must read and study the Bible to see how He handled adversity. When we read in the gospels about Jesus praying in the Garden of Gethsemane, it was clear that He understood the feeling of wanting to quit – but He did not quit – even when faced with humiliation, suffering, and death!

Still not convinced? Consider what Jesus has to deal with on a daily basis. Most of His followers are self-serving and hypocritical, but He still doesn’t quit. He is always there for us no matter, He never fails us, He never leaves us. Here are Jesus’ final words from the gospel of Matthew: “I am with you always, even to the end of the world.” Next time you are ready to give up, remember your Savior – He never quits.

Jesus loves you. There is nothing you can do to get Him to love you more, and there is nothing you can do to cause Him to love you less. Only His love is unconditional.

As a pastor and a husband and a dad and a coach, there have been many times I have felt like quitting, but I cannot. Jesus said, “No one, after putting his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.” Luke 9:62
