9U Crusaders storm into SC and win Upstate South Carolina 2016 State Championship

The 9U Crusaders stormed into SC and captured the Upstate South Carolina 2016 State Championship in the Silver Bracket with an impressive victory over the Boiling Springs Thunderdogs (Boiling Springs, SC) with the final score of 5-0.

The 9U Crusaders posted a 1-1 record on Saturday June 4th in pool play at Tyger Park (Spartanburg,SC) with a rematch victory over the eventual gold bracket champion Wave Baseball (Easley,SC)  with final score of 6-5.  This set the stage for a showdown with GameDay Shockwave (West Columbia,SC).  The 9U Crusaders lost a barn burner/weather delayed game with Shockwave getting the advantage 11-8.  The amount of runs given up forced the 9U Crusaders into a #1 seed in the Silver Division to be played at Timken Park in Union,SC  and a matchup with Pro Elite (Taylors,SC).    The Crusaders came out on fire with eyes set on advancing to the  championship game with an impressive 18-3 victory.

Overall, it was an action packed weekend filled with high expectations and excitement.  The difference in playing for the Gold Championship was a matter  .5 of run given up on Saturday.  Great job Crusaders 9U!
