10U CRUSADERS WIN THE 2017 TENNESSEE SUPER NIT 10U MAJOR CROWN AND BID TO COMPETE IN DISNEY ELITE 32 CHAMPIONSHIPS IN ORLANDO,FL

May 6-7, 2017

The 10U (Major) Crusaders won their first MAJOR SUPER NIT title on Sunday by winning the 2017 TENNESSEE SUPER NIT- MAJOR DIVISION. After competing in two prior SUPER NIT’s (Atlanta Select 30 & Beast of The East -Charlotte,NC) and coming up a little short, the 10U (Major) Crusaders put it all together and played exceptional baseball in route to a dominating performance in the championship game.

The road to the championship game would consist of defeating 3 solid opponents. Those opponents being:

Pool Play Game 1- Saturday May 6th

10U (M) Crusaders – 13
10U AAA Carolina Travelers (Asheville,NC) – 4

Pool Play Game 2- Saturday May 6th

10U (M) Crusaders – 15
10U AAA RBI SOX (Knoxville,TN) – 1

Bracket Play Game 1- Sunday May 7th

10U(M) Crusaders – 11
10U(M) BIG GAME 2025 (High Point, NC) – 5

The Championship game would consist of an epic match up between the Shockwave 10U (M) out of Columbia,SC and the 10U (M) Crusaders. The Crusaders 10U would jump out to an early 3 nothing lead, capped with a 6 run 5th inning and secure the victory with a final score of:

Crusaders 10U MAJOR – 10
Shockwave 10U MAJOR – 5

Stat of the weekend:

The 10U Crusaders would post strong hitting and pitching performances in route to the championship.
From a hitting standpoint, the 10U Crusaders had 36 total hits on the weekend. Even more impressive is that the 10U Crusaders opponents combined would post 25 walks against. This is excellent because it shows tremendous hitter discipline and pitch selection.

Pitching- The 10U Crusaders pitchers would collect 22 total strikeouts on the weekend with only 12 Walks given up to the opponent. Awesome job boys!!!!!!!
