10U CRUSADERS WIN FALL DIAMOND CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIP WITH STRONG SHOWING

THE 10u(MAJOR) Crusaders fresh off their first MAJOR classification tournament win (King of Swing- Charlotte,NC), were back in action this weekend competing on their home turf in the Fall Diamond Classic in Kingsport,TN at Domtar Park 10U Open Bracket Tournament. The 10u Crusaders would find their stride early as and often as they would soundly defeat two solid teams in pool play on Day 1.

Pool Play:

Game 1 – 10u Crusaders (Major) vs 10u Tribe (Kingsport,TN- AA) – 10 – 1 – WIN
Three Crusaders pitchers would team up to throw a combined NO HITTER in four innings of work!

Game 2- 10u Crusaders (Major) vs 10u East TN Avengers (Bristol,TN -AA) 20-1 – WIN
Offense dominates the stat line here as the bats of all players came up big in route to a 20-1 win. 7 hitters combined for 10 hits, 14 RBIs and 17 runs scored on hits.

Bracket Play:

Game 1- 10u Crusaders (Major) vs 10u Washington County Express (Bristol,VA-AA) 12 – 4 – WIN
The 10u Crusaders would find their selves in a hole early 4-0 only to turn the tide and rally to score 11 runs in the first three innings leaving no doubt about the eventual outcome. The 10u Crusaders had six hitters combine for 10 hits, eight RBI’s and 7 runs scored off of those hits.

Championship Game:

10U Crusaders (Major) would once again face the Tennessee Scrappers 10U (Grey,TN- AA) in the Championship game. The 10U Crusaders were poised and primed to make a statement as they would cruise to victory in the game with a final score of 18-4. The 10u Crusaders would post 12 hits scoring 18 runs along pitching performances from three players that would only allow 2 hits and only 1 earned run.

This victory makes 3 straight 10U tournament wins for the 10U Crusaders. The parents and coaches would live to state that we are very proud of these young men and their accomplishments. Keep up the great work boys and continue to work at the game that you love! Next stop is Pigeon Forge/ Cal Ripken Experience as the 10U Crusaders will compete in the 10U Big Elk Tournament on October 22-23.
