10U CRUSADERS FINISH SEASON STRONG WITH 3RD PLACE FINISH AT GLOBAL WORLD SERIES IN GULF SHORES, ALABAMA

A fabulous week of Family, Friends, Memories, Fun, Sun & Wonderful 10 year old Baseball came to end on Saturday (7/8/17) as the 10U Crusaders were eliminated in the Semi-Finals of the USSSA Global World Series (Gulf Shores, Alabama).

The 10U Crusaders had a magical run during the week long tourney in which they would post impressive wins over some of the TOP TIER 10U teams in the country. The Crusaders would find their selves finishing 3rd overall in the 10U Division -Platinum Bracket.

The Crusaders opened Pool Play against the Mississippi Mudbugs (Jefferson,LA), TNT Baseball (Grenada,MS), Texas Fire (Austin,TXS) & Dynasty Black 10U Major (Kingwood,TXS) going 3-0-1.

Bracket Play would consist of double elimination. The 10U Crusaders would find their selves matched with two of the top 10U MAJOR teams in the nation in Bracket Play. The first being Traction Canes Black 10U (Baton Rouge,LA) -#10 National Rank. This game would be watched by many in attendance as the the two teams battled deep into extra innings. The 10U Crusaders capped a landmark win in extra innings with the final score on two run homerun by M.W. and a walkoff “Hidden Ball” trick play at 2nd base. Unbelievable ball game! Final score:

Game 2- 10U Crusaders (MAJOR) verses 10U Young Guns (MAJOR-Cookeville,TN)-Ranked #5 Nationally
This game was to be called the battle of Rocky Top and did not disappoint. The Crusaders would find their selves on the losing end in a heartbreaker in extra innings with the final score of:

10U Crusaders (MAJOR)- -5
10U Young Guns (MAJOR)- 6

Game 3- The 10U Crusaders would enter the last day of competition with a match up against the the 10U MAJOR Mississippi Phenoms 10U (MAJOR). The 10U boys were bound and determined to win and get to the semi-finals and rallied from a 3-0 deficit early to win 9-5 and edge their way into the Semi-Finals. This was a quality 10U Major program out of Vickburg,MS and winner of multiple Super NIT’s and Mississippi State Champions.

SEMI FINALS:
The 10U Major Crusaders magical run at the Global World Series came to end when they would be defeated by a quality/top notched team out Spring, TXS – Scorpions TEAM EASTON- 10U.

It has been a wonderful season full of life long memories and joy watching these young boys compete at the game they love. The 10U Crusaders finished the season with a staggering record of 62 wins, 10 loses and 1 tie competing and winning in marquee tournaments at the 10u and 11u age group. The 10U Crusaders finished the season ranked 22 in the country (Power Rankings) and 4th in the Southeast (SEC States). Outstanding!

We are so proud of these boys and how they play this game in giving all the glory and praise to our lord and savior above! We love you and looking forward to the next chapter. God bless and have a great rest of the summer!
